CEDAR GAZEBO WITH BUILT-IN BENCHES
Built-in seating transforms this custom 10′ Red Cedar Octagon Gazebo Kit into a ready-made outdoor gathering space. Delivered to Roundhouse, Nevada, in 2026, the gazebo combines stained Western Red Cedar with seven sections of attached benches, Driftwood vinyl flooring, Victorian braces, and an Olde English Pewter shingle roof for a balance of traditional craftsmanship and practical upgrades.
The 10-foot octagonal footprint creates an intimate but functional setting for relaxing and entertaining. Instead of requiring freestanding seating around the entire perimeter, attached benches were incorporated into seven of the eight sections, leaving only the entrance open. This arrangement maximizes seating while preserving the center of the gazebo for a table, additional chairs, or open gathering space.
Appearance-grade Western Cedar forms the primary structure and gives the gazebo its natural warmth. A semi-transparent stain was applied to the entire cedar structure, enriching the color of the wood while allowing its grain and individual characteristics to remain visible.
One of the more interesting material combinations appears underfoot. Rather than continuing with traditional cedar floorboards, the customer selected 1×6 vinyl decking in Driftwood. Its weathered wood-inspired tone complements the stained cedar while providing a lower-maintenance walking surface beneath the gazebo.
The floor is supported by 2×6 joists, while eight square 4×4 posts establish the corners of the octagonal structure. Post anchor brackets and anchors were included with the kit, providing the necessary connections for securing the gazebo to the customer’s properly prepared foundation.
Around the perimeter, 32-inch-high standard bottom railings create the traditional lower enclosure associated with an octagon gazebo. Above them, upgraded Victorian braces add decorative curves beneath the roofline, introducing a more ornamental element without overwhelming the natural cedar construction.
The roof maintains a classic gazebo profile with straight fascia boards and a standard cupola at the peak. 25-year asphalt shingles in Olde English Pewter provide a versatile gray roofing color that pairs naturally with both the stained cedar framework and Driftwood flooring below.
From a design standpoint, the gazebo brings together several different textures without losing its traditional character. Natural stained cedar dominates the posts, railings, braces, and benches; gray-toned vinyl provides a durable floor; and Olde English Pewter shingles finish the roof with a neutral exterior surface.
Prepared as a prefabricated gazebo kit, the components were delivered to Roundhouse for final assembly at the customer’s Nevada property. With seven built-in benches already incorporated into the design, the completed structure provides a dedicated destination for conversation, relaxation, and enjoying the surrounding landscape.
The combination of Western Red Cedar, Victorian detailing, built-in perimeter seating, Driftwood vinyl decking, and a traditional cupola makes this 10-foot gazebo a highly customized take on the classic octagon design.
