Designed to serve as both a comfortable poolside gathering space and practical outdoor storage, this custom White Vinyl A-Frame Pool House Pavilion was created for a property in Lancaster, Virginia, in 2026. The combination structure pairs an open covered pavilion with a 4′ x 14′ enclosed storage area, providing shade and entertaining space while keeping pool equipment, furniture, and outdoor supplies conveniently tucked away.
The pavilion portion maintains an open-air layout, allowing the covered area to remain connected to the pool and surrounding landscape. Rather than enclosing the entire structure, only one section is dedicated to storage, preserving the spacious feeling expected from a backyard pavilion.
A classic A-frame roofline gives the structure a clean residential appearance and provides generous height through the center of the covered area. The straightforward gable profile also allows the pavilion to coordinate naturally with the architecture of the nearby home.
The roof is finished with Virginia Slate asphalt shingles, introducing a neutral gray tone that complements the crisp white pavilion framework. The versatile roofing color helps the structure blend into the property without competing visually with the home’s exterior.
Underneath the roof, the pavilion features open rafters, leaving the structural framing visible rather than concealing it behind a finished ceiling. This creates additional visual height and gives the covered portion a more traditional open-pavilion character.
One of the most practical elements of this project is the integrated 4′ x 14′ storage room. Positioned within the overall pavilion footprint, the enclosed area provides dedicated space for pool floats, cushions, maintenance equipment, outdoor games, cleaning supplies, and other items that would otherwise need to be carried back and forth from the house.
A set of double doors provides convenient access to the storage area, making it easier to move larger equipment and bulky outdoor furniture in and out. A single window brings natural light into the enclosed space and helps the storage section feel like an intentional part of the structure rather than a simple utility enclosure.
To visually connect the new pool house pavilion with the residence, the storage section was finished with siding selected to match the existing siding on the home. Carrying the same exterior treatment onto the new structure helps it feel as though it belongs with the property rather than appearing as a separate prefabricated building.
The pavilion’s primary exterior is finished in white vinyl, providing a bright, polished appearance that works especially well around a pool or patio. The low-maintenance finish also eliminates the regular staining or painting associated with exposed wood structures.
