This custom 8′ x 12′ Holiday Shadow Pavilion Kit was handcrafted by Atlantic Outdoors and delivered to Moore, South Carolina, in 2025. Designed as a compact and versatile outdoor structure, this pressure-treated pavilion combines durable wood construction with a clean, understated roofline, making it an attractive addition to a backyard, patio, garden, or outdoor entertaining area.
The pavilion is constructed from #1 pressure-treated lumber, providing a strong structural framework designed for long-term outdoor use. Pressure-treated wood offers excellent resistance to moisture, insects, and decay, making it a practical choice for South Carolina’s outdoor environment. For this project, the homeowner selected no stain, leaving the pressure-treated lumber in its natural unfinished appearance.
Supporting the structure are substantial 5×5 posts, paired with double 2×8 headers to create a sturdy framework for the pavilion roof. The exposed wood construction gives the pavilion a traditional appearance while providing the strength necessary to support the roofing system.
The Holiday Shadow Pavilion features a low-profile 2/12 pitch roof, creating a clean and streamlined silhouette that works especially well in residential settings. The roof is finished with durable asphalt shingles, providing reliable protection from rain, sun, and changing weather conditions while maintaining a classic appearance.
Inside, the roof is constructed with 2×6 rafters and 1×6 tongue-and-groove roof decking. The exposed tongue-and-groove decking creates an attractive finished ceiling beneath the pavilion, adding natural wood character and visual interest to the covered outdoor space.
With its 8′ x 12′ footprint, this pavilion provides a practical amount of covered space without overwhelming a smaller property. The open-sided design allows for plenty of airflow and provides flexible space for outdoor seating, a small dining area, grilling accessories, or a comfortable shaded retreat.
