Pavilion Kit Shipped to Bermuda
CUSTOM ENCLOSED VINYL PAVILION KIT
Designed for an international destination, this custom White Vinyl Pavilion Kit was fabricated for shipment to Bermuda, with the completed kit first delivered to a pickup point in Miami, Florida. Unlike a typical open-sided pavilion, this project incorporates a partially enclosed section with a framed wall, creating a structure that combines sheltered outdoor living with a more private, finished area.
Six substantial 6×6 support posts form the primary framework of the pavilion and were designed to be securely anchored to prepared concrete footings. The six-post configuration provides the support needed for the larger structure while maintaining open areas around the pavilion for easy access, airflow, and views of the surrounding property.
A return beam extends through the pavilion to define the enclosed section, creating a natural architectural division between the open-air portion and the finished wall area. Rather than looking like a separate addition, the enclosed space was incorporated directly into the pavilion’s structural design.
The wall itself is framed with 2×6 studs spaced 16 inches on center. On the exterior, OSB sheathing and white vinyl siding create a finished surface that coordinates with the rest of the pavilion’s white vinyl exterior. This gives the enclosed section the appearance of a permanent architectural feature while maintaining a consistent look across the structure.
Inside, the treatment changes from bright vinyl to natural wood. Stained cedar tongue-and-groove boards finish the interior face of the wall and continue into the area above the return beam. The cedar introduces warmth and texture to the covered space, creating a strong visual contrast against the clean white exterior.
That same natural wood character carries overhead. 2×6 rafters and 1×6 tongue-and-groove roof decking form the pavilion’s roof system, with both the rafters and tongue-and-groove decking receiving a stained finish. Viewed from underneath, the exposed wood creates a finished ceiling and helps the open portion of the pavilion feel more like a complete outdoor room.
Above the stained ceiling, asphalt shingles provide the finished roofing surface and dependable weather protection. The more traditional roofing material balances the custom wall construction and allows the pavilion’s white exterior and stained cedar interior to remain the primary visual features.
Shipping the pavilion internationally required a different delivery process from a typical Atlantic Outdoors project. The structure was prepared as a prefabricated pavilion kit and transported to a designated Miami, Florida pickup point before continuing to its final destination in Bermuda. This kit approach allowed the custom components to be fabricated in advance and then transported for assembly outside the continental United States.
With its combination of open pavilion space, an integrated enclosed section, stained cedar interior surfaces, exposed wood ceiling, and low-maintenance white vinyl exterior, this project demonstrates how a pavilion can be customized beyond a traditional four-post shade structure. The result is a more versatile outdoor building specifically prepared for its unique Bermuda destination.
